Amazing and SO worth the drive from Huntington Beach. We placed a pickup order online and got: Specialty half/half pie: half carbone with pepperoni and half speziata Garlic knots Side of ranch First of all, the ricotta is incredible. So flavorful and creamy and really made the whole pie. Secondly, they nailed the pizza and are definitely true to the name Brooklyn City Pizzeria. The crust was crisp (and foldable) while still having a good chew and flavor. The order was so good that we ate the whole 8 slice pie + garlic knots in the same day, snacking on leftover crust with their ranch towards the end of the day. The ranch is worth the $1 extra. Could've ordered more honestly. As if the pizza didn't already speak for themselves, the workers there are so kind! We tried some pizza before leaving and had to go back inside to tell them the food was amazing. Kirk or Kurt (I am the worst for forgetting your name!) was so welcoming and appreciative and told us a bit about the family business and how they're originally from tri-state area! We bonded over both being from NJ and he was kind enough to throw in a cookie for us. Cookie aside, the vibes and employees were already a 10/10 and we were already planning on coming back, this was just the cherry on top. Thanks for the amazing food and kindness. Can't wait to bring back our friends and family next time!!

I don't know how I've missed this spot before, my in-laws live right up the street so I've passed this place at least once a week for the last several years and never noticed it until earlier this week. Checked Yelp and the reviews and pictures convinced me to try it out, so last night I picked it up. Firstly, the staff are great. I originally placed the order over the phone and scheduled for pickup 3 hours later. I got there on the exact minute I scheduled it for and the pizza was coming out of the oven right then, I didn't have to wait at all. The two guys at the register were very friendly and were able to add some drinks to the total charge that I hadn't originally ordered when I made the phone call. Second, the atmosphere is nice. It's a small shop, not much room to stand around, but it's inviting. You can see the bustling pizza chefs as you walk up, families hanging out eating or picking up. As I was parking there were just as many people going in as there was people going out with their hands full of food. The place certainly gets a lot of traffic, that's great. Lastly, the food. We got a classic cheese pizza, a caesar salad, and an order of buffalo wings. The pizza, hands down a favorite for my wife and I now. We love pizza, and this place will certainly enter the rotation of favorite spots. The crust was so perfect, thin NY style and then at the end you get a little thicker crust. Tasted great dipping in ranch or the buffalo sauce from the wings. The salad was fresh, lettuce was very crisp and the croutons didn't taste like they came from a bag at the grocery store, the dressing was very thick which I enjoyed. The wings were really good too, the buffalo sauce had quite a kick to it, and the sauce was kinda thin and not too sticky. Highly recommend this place to anyone who likes pizza. The slices are huuuge too! Also small shoutout to the Sicilian soda they have, the blood orange was very tasty, never had something like it.

BCP is slinging a solid slice. Our first visit we ordered a half/half pizza at a busy time. The 40 minute wait time ended up being closer to an hour. This time I ordered online. And kept it simple. We had a regular cheese pizza. The first 50% of the slice is everything you want out of a pizza-- thin crust that holds up to the toppings, perfectly sauced, and cheesy. It's the perfect balance. Unfortunately that balance slips away as you munch through. Minimal sauce, more thick and bready under the cheese and then a wide dense crust. The sauce is wonderful and complex. You can taste the sweet tomatoes and the subtle garlic flavor. The cheese tastes fresh and has a nice cheese pull. I only wish the last 50% of the slice was as good as the first 50%. Online ordering is simple. There is a nice outdoor seating with umbrellas on the sidewalk along the parking lot.

A friend decided to grab some pizzas from Brooklyn City Pizzeria for a beach day so I can't speak to the service and ambiance of the restaurant, but I did get to try a few items on their menu. I was really excited to give this place a try especially with all the rave reviews on Yelp. We grabbed a few pizzas - the Pepperoni ($26), Sausage ($25), Vodka ($30) and the Pesto Artichoke ($35) along with a couple orders of the Garlic Knots ($8 per order). The pizzas were definitely sizable with 8 large slices per pie. The pizza tasted good, but I personally found them to look a bit better than it tasted. My favorite was the Vodka pizza as I loved the dollops of fresh ricotta sprinkled throughout the pie. The crust is a bit on the thinner side if you like NY style pizza. What really stole the show for me though were the garlic knots! They were chewy, buttery and had delicious garlicky flavor. Glad I finally got to try Brooklyn City Pizzeria.

I've been here many times but have never written a review. However since a coworker said he saw my review here I guess I better prove him right. Here goes. This place has one of the best pizza in the area. It passes all of my criteria for having authentic NY pizza. Of course you have to do this test on a plain cheese for a consistent analysis. 1. Thin crust and chewy dough? Check 2. Good flavorful sauce? Check 3. Tasty chewy cheese? Check That's it. Pass!

Solid New York pizza slice shop in South OC. You can get two slices and a drink for around $8 (it's not cheaper if you don't get a drink, I asked). Came on a weekend around 4:30 PM and there was no line. Service was friendly and they have a decent amount of outdoor seating. The pizza was solid and comparable to other NY pizza joints I've had in OC like Loosies in Santa Ana and Terra Mia. The slice sizes were huge (essentially two slices in one). My only complaints are that the pepperoni slices were extremely greasy (yeah, I know it's pizza but this was TOO greasy to the point where it was a bit unappetizing). Also the crust hold wasn't great and didn't pass the NY fold test (see pic). Overall a decent spot but I wouldn't come out of my way as there are other comparable NY pizza places out there.

I have been wanting to come here for years, but we never seem to make it down this way, and if we do, I have forgotten about it every time. Not last weekend! We made it an official plan to stop by on the way home from from San Juan Capistrano. We were hoping to just get slices and eat there, but it's TINY and all the seating was taken. Instead we got a pepperoni pizza and an order of meatballs to go. I am very glad we did that instead! I would have been bummed if I only had one slice of their delicious pizza. The wait was about 40 minutes, and well worth it! It was still hot by the time we drove the 30 miles home. We absolutely loved this pizza, the crust is great (and I usually don't eat crusts!), the amount of pepperoni was perfect, the sauce was delish, and it was just the right amount of cheese. Pieces are MASSIVE, and this pizza fed us for days. Oh, the meatballs? Some of the best I have ever had! While I do not think we will drive out of the way to come here again, if we will be passing by, I definitely want to call in an order and pick it up. I would love to try their other pizzas and appetizers. My husband was drooling over some garlic knots he saw them taking out of the oven when we were ordering, so I think we will definitely order those next time.
